Resolution
This past Sunday I finished up a message series called “Resolution” – What will you resolve to do in 2009 that will make it better than 2008.
Having asked our whole church to choose to do something that will take their relationship with God to a deeper level, I felt that I needed to set an example and set some resolutions of my own.
Yesterday I challenged all of us to be authentic, not authentic in terms of individual, but authentic in being real about the fact that we are broken and imperfect people and we need the grace of God in our lives. I know that many Christians fear this conversation whether it is the fear of being exposed or even the fear that if I acknowledge that I live by grace I may take advantage of it. But I believe that grace is the very thing that allows us to live the life that Jesus died for.
So my resolution is to use this blog this year to to have authentic conversations about life, church, and me (and maybe you, if you want to join in). I am aiming to post twice a week to get started and then we will see what happens from there.
All of this so we can know Jesus more.
Thoughts.
